Wednesday, 22/08/2012- The best advice you can ever get is not from your followers but your opposition. When it comes to relationships, as a man, the best advice you could ever get can never come from your male-friends, but from women. Here’s their advice; from them to you.
1. Women are not interested in your money: Gold digging is for lazy girls-that's all. Believing that every other woman you meet is after your money is a sign that you are still dating girls, not ladies. If you don't want women thinking that you are after their pants, then you should stop assuming that they are after your wallet.
2. Respect comes before love: In simpler terms this means, never dismiss what she has to say, what she likes, how much she knows or how she thinks. I've watched men ignore or make fun of their girlfriends or spouses in other people's presence-nothing hurts as much! By her being your partner, it means that you got to be by her side in public, and maybe correct her when it's just the two of you.
3. Of course there's the one, but can never be a Miss Perfect: You'll find men in their 30's, 40's and even 50's bragging how good bachelorhood is good, when they are actually dying of loneliness, junk food and long hours at work as they wait for the Miss Perfect. The only way you can land a Miss Perfect is if you are Mr. Perfect yourself. However, there are loads of Miss Rights around who are not interested in Mr. Perfects but Mr. Rights.
4. You can't be a player now and a keeper later: They say, they are single and free to mingle, but when the right woman comes around, they'll change. No lady is ever interested in a player (maybe when she's drunk and want to act a fool). So, so long as you choose to be a player, don't even think of hooking up with a serious lady.
5. There's a difference between being a man and being a gentleman: Boys as young as 3 years call themselves men. Men are everywhere but it’s the gentlemen that ladies like to be with. A gentleman whom you can talk to, respect and respect you back, hang out with, have fun with, be real with and establish, build and cement a relationship with.
6. Quality rules; quantity dictates: It's okay to look, but it’s another thing to ogle. Unfortunately most men are mesmerised and blinded by looks, with only a few taking notice of a woman who is smart, intelligent, friendly and normal. A good woman will easily let you go if you dismiss her at the expense of another with better looks and lesser brains. And once she's gone, it'll be too late for you to have her back since, once a woman is fed up with you, there's nothing you can do to change her mind.
7. Generalising: I have had many men ask me, “Why do you women..." The sound of that question almost annoys me. Just because a few other women you know do something doesn't mean that every other woman on this planet does it. I always recommend the use of 'SOME' or 'MOST' but never 'YOU.'
8. Stop assuming-TALK: He'll say, "I don't have to tell her that I like her/love her...she knows that I do." How lame is that? In the ladies' dictionary, this is an act of cowardice. For this very reason, so many ladies are in relationships that they have no idea whether they are just being friends, friends with benefits, secret lovers, companions or potential couples. Words makes all the change to a woman, and without them, you may as well forget that there is something going on between the two of you.
